Leaked Battlefield Content Excites Fans, EA Silent
Despite requiring players to sign NDAs to keep details of EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps, the content leaked online anyway. Dozens of videos and screenshots have surfaced, revealing what participants in the game's closed playtesting have been experiencing.
As previously reported when these leaks first emerged, the footage appears to confirm the "modern" setting Vince Zampella hinted at earlier, setting it apart from other titles in the series. A quick glance at the Battlefield subreddit reveals intense firefights, glimpses of the game's signature destructible environments, and a showcase of new mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.
Surprisingly, EA seems to be taking a relaxed approach to these leaks. Unlike most publishers who aggressively pursue the removal of unauthorized pre-release content due to concerns about incomplete animations, unfinished UI, and less-than-stellar graphics, EA has not issued any takedowns, even though players are violating their confidentiality agreements by sharing this content.

This leniency might be influenced by the positive reception the leaks have received, a stark contrast to Battlefield 2042's lukewarm reception. Fans appear to be pretty pleased with what they've seen so far.

"I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" said one player, with another adding: "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me."
"Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!" exclaimed another happy player.
"I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha," opined someone else.
5 minutes gameplay, thoughts?

EA expects its next Battlefield game to launch in the fiscal year 2026, meaning a release window between April 2025 and March 2026. From the first official unveiling just last month, it's clear that the new Battlefield will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a move that has been warmly received by fans disappointed by its absence in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
