This law aims to curb gaming addiction among minors through various measures, including playtime restrictions (90 minutes on weekdays, three hours on weekends) and mandatory "Healthy Gaming Advice" prompts. Facial recognition is already commonplace in China for security in various sectors, including airports and banks.

For players outside China, this change is unlikely to affect gameplay. The face verification system is specifically designed to comply with Chinese regulations.
