"Mandalorian and Grogu Update Enhances Millennium Falcon Ride - Star Wars Celebration"

by Olivia May 26,2025

Star Wars Celebration unveiled some thrilling updates for the upcoming *The Mandalorian and Grogu*-themed expansion in *Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run*, set to launch alongside the new movie. This update will introduce exciting new elements, including the ability for Engineers to care for Grogu and the addition of Coruscant as a visitable planet, alongside Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. This choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline promises to immerse guests in a dynamic galactic experience.

Scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, this update will diverge from the plot of *The Mandalorian & Grogu* movie but will still feature Din Djarin and Grogu in fresh and engaging ways. The story kicks off when Hondo Ohnaka overhears a deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates, sparking a high-stakes chase across the galaxy. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue the culprits and claim a bounty, embarking on an exhilarating, galaxy-spanning adventure.

While full details are still under wraps, we know that Engineers will play a more significant role, taking charge of Grogu's care. What could be more exciting than that?

To dive deeper into what fans can expect, we spoke with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, who offered more insights into the upcoming experience. "Throughout the mission, we're going to give the engineers the chance to communicate directly with Grogu," Kalama explained. "It's going to be a lot of fun. There may be moments when Mando needs to leave the Razor Crest, and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a bit too playful with the control panel. We love the idea of these fun little vignettes where you're interacting with Grogu over the comm."

Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, Kalama added, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you're short on time and have to make a quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This choice will be the inciting incident that determines which destinations you visit."
