0$499.99 at Best BuyChoosing the Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World saves you $30 compared to purchasing the console and game separately. Keep in mind, the bundle includes a digital copy, so you won’t receive a physical cartridge or game case. If owning a physical copy matters, you can spend the extra $30 for the standalone game.
Game Priced at $79.99
When purchased alone, Mario Kart World retails for $79.99, a $10 premium over standard AAA titles for PlayStation and Xbox this generation. While rising game prices are a tough pill to swallow, the increased development costs suggest this title’s ambitious scope may justify the extra cost.
Discover Mario Kart World
Mario Kart World aims to be the most expansive entry in the series yet, delivering an open-world experience akin to Forza Horizon. In Grand Prix mode, players can seamlessly drive from one track’s finish to the next race’s start.
Dynamic weather and time-of-day changes impact visibility and traction, adding depth to the tracks. Nintendo says you can stray from the course and explore “virtually anywhere.” Each race features 24 drivers, a series high.
A new Knockout Tour mode challenges players to race across the open world, hitting checkpoints with placement requirements—fall behind, and you’re out. For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode lets you cruise the world with friends, snapping photos as you go.
More details on Mario Kart World will drop during a Nintendo Direct on April 17. For now, check out our hands-on preview for deeper insights.
