Marvel Rivals' Spring Festival event kicks off this Thursday! Get ready for a free Star-Lord costume and a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. This 3v3 mode challenges teams to score a ball in the opposing goal.

While the gameplay might evoke comparisons to Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball—itself inspired by Rocket League. This is a noteworthy parallel, as Marvel Rivals is currently outpacing Overwatch in popularity and needs unique content to establish its own identity. The event's use of a similar mode to Overwatch's inaugural event is therefore interesting, though Marvel Rivals adds a distinct Chinese New Year theme, unlike Overwatch's Olympic Games theme.
