Marvel Rivals Scales Back Content for Future Seasons

Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch Featuring the Fantastic Four

Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified launch event.

This supersized season includes:

  • Three New Maps: Explore iconic New York City locations: the Sanctum Sanctorum (available at launch, featuring the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
  • The Fantastic Four Debut: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) arrive on January 10th. The Thing and Human Torch will join the roster in a substantial mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
  • Extended Season Length: Expect a three-month season, with a significant update midway through.

While the expanded Season 1 content is exciting news, the absence of Blade has disappointed some fans. However, the possibility of his future inclusion remains open.

NetEase Games has yet to clarify how this double-sized season will affect future content releases, but for now, it's anticipated that two new heroes or villains will be added per season. With the impressive Season 1 launch and ongoing speculation, the future of Marvel Rivals looks bright.
