Marvel Snap: Top Agamotto Decks
Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! This season introduces Agamotto, a powerful Season Pass card and ancient sorcerer linked to Doctor Strange. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks currently available.
How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap
Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a game-changing ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:
- Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
- Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
- Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
- Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)
Notice the "Banish" keyword. These Arcana are Skill cards, lacking power values, and vanish after use; they don't go to the discard pile. This means they don't synergize with cards like Odin or King Etri, and their costs aren't affected by Mister Negative or Ravonna Renslayer. However, they do work with Wong. Agamotto's diverse Arcana make him adaptable, but also prevent him from fitting neatly into a single archetype.
Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap
While Agamotto's ultimate deck composition might evolve, he currently excels in two archetypes: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.
Wiccan Control:
Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth. [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]
This deck features several Series 5 cards. While costly, many cards can be substituted with similar-cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk compensates for potential Wiccan delays, providing extra energy for a powerful endgame. The Arcana synergize well: Temporal Manipulation ensures early Agamotto access; Wombs of Watoomb disrupts opponents; Images of Ikonn creates powerful board states, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galactus. Note that Eson, released alongside Agamotto, complements Arishem decks.
Push Scream:
Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Spider-Man, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto. [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]
This deck also includes several Series 5 cards (Hydra Bob can be replaced by Nightcrawler, and Iron Patriot by Jeff). While only Wombs of Watoomb directly synergizes with Agamotto, Temporal Manipulation boosts late-game Agamotto plays, and Images of Ikonn multiplies powerful cards like Scream or Spider-Man. This deck's unpredictability makes it surprisingly effective against Luke Cage and Shadow King decks.
Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?
Agamotto's power level rivals Thanos or Arishem. His potential to disrupt the meta and his future archetype development make the $9.99 Season Pass a worthwhile investment if you have the budget.
