Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming. To counter this, stunning the monster is essential. Look for a Flashfly in the area to temporarily immobilize it, or craft and use Flash Pods to achieve the same effect. This brief window allows you to attack without the risk of being immediately countered.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. Utilize SOS signals to call for backup. If no players respond, NPCs can serve as effective distractions, drawing the monster's attention away from you and giving you a chance to dodge and plan your next move.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the fight, Ebony Odogaron may lead you to an area with Entangled Rocks hanging above. Use your slinger to bring them down and stun the monster for a few crucial seconds. Remember, this tactic can only be used once per fight. Additionally, Pitfall and Shock Traps can be crafted to immobilize the beast two more times.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which disables your ability to build up elemental or status effects. Counter this with a Nulberry or equip gear with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact on your combat effectiveness.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is highly recommended when fighting Ebony Odogaron. This status effect immobilizes the monster, providing a golden window to deal damage. If you can knock it down near roots, it might get further entangled, prolonging your attack opportunity.
Aim for the Head
The head of Ebony Odogaron is its most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. While targeting it maximizes damage, it also puts you at greater risk. Alternatively, aim for the forelegs and tail to safely deal damage and potentially break these parts.
