Microsoft Is Developing Gears of War Collection Without Multiplayer
Renowned Windows Central editor and insider Jez Corden has confirmed reports that Microsoft is developing a Gears of War collection. Recent rumors suggested the collection would omit the franchise's multiplayer mode, a claim Corden verified. Competitive online play will be absent, but cooperative gameplay and the main story campaigns will remain.

The official announcement for the Gears of War collection may arrive as early as the upcoming Xbox Showcase in June, according to industry sources. While specifics on which games will be included are limited, speculation points towards the first three entries in the series.
Development on Gears of War: E-Day, the next mainline entry, continues using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Recent leaks hinted at a release later this year, but Corden believes a 2026 release is more likely.
