Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have confirmed their titles' return for the 2025 edition. Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is the latest to join the roster, following Garena's Free Fire.

The 2024 World Cup featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments attracted teams from around the globe to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak) to claim the Women's Invitational title.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, a noticeable trend is the absence of truly major championships. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary competition. This is a double-edged sword; it avoids overshadowing existing leagues but could also be perceived as secondary to the main MLBB events.

Despite this, fans of MLBB and other participating titles will undoubtedly welcome the return of their favorite games to this prestigious tournament. If this news has piqued your interest in MLBB, check out our tier list of top-tier characters to help you get started!
