Monster Hunter Rise: Unlock "I Caught a Shooting Star" Trophy

by Hunter Mar 13,2025

While many *Monster Hunter Wilds* achievements focus on epic hunts, one celebrates the smallest creature: the Sandstar. This guide shows you how to snag the elusive "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.

This hidden trophy is deceptively tricky. You need to capture the Sandstar, a tiny desert mouse-like endemic life found only at night in the Windward Plains. Its shimmering fur makes it stand out, but its nocturnal habits and small size make it easy to miss.

Since the Windward Plains are usually explored during the day, you'll need to reach nighttime. Two methods work:

  • Fast Travel: Once you've unlocked fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly travel between them. This advances time until nightfall.
  • Rest: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select "Nighttime."

The Sandstar is small and fast, even for your Seikret. Consider using Screamer Pods, gathered from Baunos (winged monsters in Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains). These stun the Sandstar, making capture easier.

At night, search the area between Areas 11 and 13. When you spot the Sandstar, chase it, stun it with a Screamer Pod (if you have them), and quickly use your Capture Net. Success unlocks the "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement and the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate.
