Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

by Owen May 13,2025

Capcom has decided to extend the beta testing period for Monster Hunter Wilds following a significant 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test session. The PSN outage began at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.

During the downtime, PlayStation users were unable to access online gaming, and even some single-player games that required server authentication or a constant internet connection were affected. The second, highly anticipated beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was cut short due to this issue. In response, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next session, shifting the end date from Sunday, February 16 to Monday, February 17. The new testing window will run from:

Feb. 13, 7pm PT / Feb. 14, 3am GMT – Feb. 17, 6:59 pm PT / Feb. 18, 2:59 am GMT

Capcom confirmed that players participating in the extended beta period will still be eligible to receive the participation bonuses that will be available in the full version of the game. Despite the challenges posed by the PSN outage, beta participants were able to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' formidable new adversary, Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch officially on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more in-depth information, you can explore our IGN First coverage, which includes our final preview of Monster Hunter Wilds.
