Moon Knight Will Return, but Not in a Season 2, Marvel Exec Says

Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, But No Season 2

While Moon Knight won't be returning for a second season on Disney+, Marvel Studios has confirmed that Oscar Isaac's character will reappear in the MCU. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, revealed this news to ComicBook, clarifying that the shift in Marvel Television's strategy precludes a traditional Season 2.

The change in approach sees Marvel Television moving away from using shows solely to introduce characters for later MCU projects, a strategy employed with shows like Ms. Marvel. The new focus is on creating self-contained, annual series, more akin to traditional television programming.

Winderbaum stated, "Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future…moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

Although Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If…?, details regarding his live-action return remain undisclosed.

The upcoming Marvel Disney+ slate includes Daredevil: Born Again (March), Ironheart (June), Eyes of Wakanda (August), Marvel Zombies (October), and Wonder Man (December). Recently, production on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. was reportedly paused, but Winderbaum hinted at the possibility of a Defenders reunion, bringing together Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
