"Mortal Kombat 1 Unveils Secret Fighter Tied to Iconic Rock Band"
This week, Mortal Kombat 1 received a significant update, introducing Conan the Barbarian to the fray. However, the update also included a surprise addition: a ninja dressed in pink and named Floyd. While it might seem like a playful inclusion, Floyd is indeed a legitimate secret fighter.
Floyd serves as a walking tribute to the iconic rock band Pink Floyd. His design draws inspiration from the cover of their album The Dark Side of the Moon, which famously depicts the dispersion of light into a spectrum of colors. Interestingly, Floyd's fighting style is a blend of moves borrowed from other ninjas in the game. He can freeze opponents like Sub-Zero and utilize spears akin to Scorpion. Adding to his unique charm, Floyd boasts a health pool of 1337 points, a nod to the internet slang for "leet" or "elite."
For long-time fans of the franchise, Floyd's inclusion may evoke a sense of déjà vu, reminiscent of Reptile's debut in the original Mortal Kombat game. Reptile, too, was a secret fighter whose moveset was a compilation of other characters' abilities, and he was notoriously challenging to defeat.
Currently, the Mortal Kombat 1 community is actively searching for ways to trigger encounters with Floyd. His appearances seem somewhat random, though he does provide hints about the challenges players must complete to face him. As yet, there's no full confirmation on how to consistently unlock this pink-clad ninja.
