Locating the Music Box

Like other cursed items, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is entirely random; there's no guaranteed method to find one. Only a single Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to activate its unique properties.

Utilizing the Music Box

The Music Box offers several strategic advantages. Upon activation, it plays a melody. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its proximity. Within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. This allows for strategic placement, luring the ghost to a desired location. Note that the Music Box automatically stops playing after the song concludes. Holding the activated Box also decreases your sanity.

Triggering Hunts with the Music Box

The Music Box can initiate either a standard or cursed hunt, depending on specific circumstances:

• Throwing the active Box: Throwing the Music Box while it's playing triggers a cursed hunt.
• 0% Sanity while holding: Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Music Box also triggers a cursed hunt.
• Prolonged ghost proximity: If the ghost approaches the Music Box for over five seconds, a cursed hunt may begin.
• Ghost near the player: A ghost's close proximity to the player holding the active Music Box can also trigger a hunt.

For optimal use, consider carrying additional tools like Smudge Sticks. These provide a survival advantage during hunts, allowing you to continue identifying the ghost or completing other objectives.
