Solve Archaeology Puzzles in Mutropolis

Mutropolis, a quirky sci-fi detective adventure from Pirita Studio, launches on mobile today courtesy of Application Systems Heidelberg. The publisher, known for titles like Unforeseen Incidents, LUNA The Shadow Dust, and The Longing, brings this point-and-click mystery to phones and tablets.

The game has been available on PC via Steam, and this mobile release marks a new chapter. Application Systems is also gearing up to launch another narrative-driven title, Growbot, on mobile soon.

What is Mutropolis about?

The year is 5000. Archaeologist Henry Dijon and his team of eccentric researchers have left Mars to excavate the forgotten ruins of Earth. Ancient civilizations, from the Egyptian pyramids to classic sitcoms, are now just mysterious relics of a lost past.

This history means nothing to most of future society—except for Henry's nerdy crew, who remain fascinated by ancient Earth culture. A routine archaeological dig takes a bizarre turn when Henry's mentor, Professor Totel, vanishes without a trace.

Their search uncovers a startling truth: the gods of ancient Egypt are real, and they have unfinished business with humanity. Players guide Henry through the ruins in pursuit of the fabled lost city of Mutropolis, navigating futuristic tech and perplexing ancient artifacts. Get a glimpse of the adventure in the trailer below.

A lighthearted adventure with thoughtful puzzles

The game balances a humorous tone with genuine mystery, treating relics like a Sony Walkman as enigmatic artifacts. The writing is witty and absurd, while the puzzles are clever and logical, avoiding frustrating item combinations.

Spanning three acts, Mutropolis features over 50 beautifully hand-drawn environments. The story is fully voiced in English, with subtitles available in several languages.

Its vibrant color palette brings the post-apocalyptic world to life. Solving puzzles often requires careful observation, and every interaction or line of dialogue typically serves a purpose in the unfolding story.

Priced at $4.49 on the Google Play Store, Mutropolis is a compelling point-and-click adventure. It's a perfect pick for fans of sci-fi, archaeology, and stories with a dash of clever humor.
