Netflix Cancels Electric State Prequel Game: Kid Cosmo

Netflix is set to launch an exciting movie tie-in game for their upcoming sci-fi adventure, The Electric State. Titled *The Electric State: Kid Cosmo*, this puzzle game comes with a retro-futuristic twist and is scheduled for release on March 18th, just four days after the film premieres on Netflix. Directed by the Russo brothers, the movie features stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt and takes viewers on a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate '90s America, filled with massive robots.

It's Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie

Contrary to what you might expect, *The Electric State: Kid Cosmo* is not just a direct adaptation of the film. Instead, it serves as a prequel that delves into the childhood of two central characters, Chris and Michelle. Developed by BUCK Games in collaboration with AGBO, the game offers a game-within-a-game experience. BUCK Games, known for their popular roguelite puzzle game Let's! Revolution! on Steam, promises solid gameplay for *Kid Cosmo*.

The game will take players through a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series, but with a distinct '80s vibe. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the narrative spans five years, providing a deeper look into Chris and Michelle's journey before the events of the movie. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles that gradually reveal the secrets of this strange world. For a sneak peek, check out the official trailer below.

The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix's Trend of Spin-Offs

*The Electric State: Kid Cosmo* aligns with Netflix's recent push to expand its gaming catalogue, particularly with interactive spin-offs. From *Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales* and *Too Hot to Handle Series* to *Money Heist: Ultimate Choice* and *Squid Game: Unleashed*, Netflix continues to grow its gaming roster.
