by Ava Apr 27,2025

In the latest wave of Stephen King adaptations, fans are in for another thrilling ride as Netflix gears up to bring a fresh take on the classic horror tale, Cujo. According to Deadline, the streaming giant has enlisted the expertise of Vertigo Entertainment founder and producer Roy Lee to helm this new project. While the film is still in its early stages, with no writers, directors, or cast members announced yet, anticipation is already building.

Originally published in 1981, Stephen King's Cujo was swiftly adapted into a cult classic horror film in 1983, directed by Lewis Teague and written by Don Carlos Dunaway and Barbara Turner. The story centers on a mother, portrayed by Dee Wallace, who finds herself trapped in a car with her young son as they are stalked by Cujo, a once-friendly dog turned rabid after being bitten by a bat. As they battle heatstroke and the relentless threat outside their vehicle, the tension escalates to a gripping climax.
