Neverness to Everness is set to hold its first closed beta test, but only in China

by Leo Mar 16,2025

Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China. However, fans worldwide can still keep an eye on its progress as it heads towards a wider release.

Gematsu recently highlighted some newly revealed lore, adding depth to the game's setting. If you've seen the trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below), these additions likely won't be too surprising. The new details emphasize a more comedic story tone, highlighting the intriguing blend of the bizarre and the ordinary in Hetherau.

Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is bringing a unique twist to the increasingly popular urban-focused 3D RPG genre.

A Unique Selling Point: Open-World Driving

One standout feature is the inclusion of open-world driving. Players can experience the thrill of speeding through the city streets, customizing and upgrading a variety of vehicles. However, be warned: crashes are as impactful as in real life!

Neverness to Everness will face significant competition upon release. It will contend not only with miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero, which has set a high bar for mobile 3D open-world RPGs, but also with NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), developed by Naked Rain, which occupies a similar niche.
