Nintendo Today App: A New Hub for Fans' News and Content

by Peyton Apr 25,2025

Nintendo Today is a fresh app from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more direct and engaging way than ever before. Announced by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, this innovative app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering a range of exciting features for avid Nintendo enthusiasts.

This comprehensive hub acts as a daily calendar and news platform, providing a steady stream of updates directly to players. Miyamoto highlighted that following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the Nintendo Today app to stay updated with all the latest news, which will be refreshed on a daily basis.

Unlike traditional Nintendo Directs, Nintendo Today offers a more immediate connection with fans, keeping them informed even outside of major announcements. As each day progresses, beloved characters from franchises like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing will greet users, enhancing the daily experience. The app's feed will not only feature news but also a variety of Nintendo-themed content, including a Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and insightful "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster reveal of a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that many fans were hoping for, it serves as an additional avenue for fans to stay connected with the world of Nintendo.
