Which Nintendo Franchise Deserves a LEGO Set the Most in 2025?

by Leo May 17,2025

Nintendo and LEGO have already delighted fans with some fantastic LEGO Nintendo sets. Last year's introduction of the dynamic Mario and Yoshi set, which actually moves, and the inaugural LEGO Legend of Zelda set have set high standards. While the Mario series (including Donkey Kong) and Animal Crossing have been well-represented, there's a vast array of other iconic Nintendo franchises waiting to be transformed into LEGO form. As a fan of both LEGO and Nintendo, I'm eager to see more variety. So, what other Nintendo universe would you love to see come to life in LEGO bricks?

Which Nintendo Franchise Deserves a LEGO Set the Most?

With the excitement around the upcoming Switch 2, the future of Nintendo and LEGO collaborations seems bright. As Nintendo continues to expand its footprint in movies, like the new Mario movie and the anticipated live-action Zelda, and with new Switch games on the horizon, the potential for new LEGO sets is immense. Here are some of the franchises fans are eager to see turned into LEGO sets in 2025 or beyond:

  • Metroid: With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, a LEGO set featuring Samus Aran and her iconic power suit could be a thrilling addition. Imagine building the intricate details of her armor or the eerie environments of the Metroid universe.
  • Kirby: The whimsical world of Kirby, with its colorful characters and imaginative landscapes, would translate beautifully into LEGO. Sets could include Kirby's various transformations and his adventures through Dream Land.
  • Pokémon: Although currently under a licensing agreement with Mattel for MEGA sets, the idea of official LEGO Pokémon sets is incredibly appealing. Fans would love to build their favorite Pokémon and recreate scenes from the games.
  • Luigi's Mansion: The ghostly atmosphere and inventive gadgets of Luigi's Mansion could make for unique and fun LEGO sets. Building Luigi's Poltergust and the haunted mansions would be a delightful experience.
  • Splatoon: The vibrant, ink-filled world of Splatoon would be a perfect fit for LEGO's colorful bricks. Sets could feature the various arenas and the unique weapons used by the Inklings.
  • Super Smash Bros.: A LEGO set inspired by Super Smash Bros. could include mini-figures of various Nintendo characters, along with iconic stages and battle arenas.
  • Pikmin: The charming and cooperative world of Pikmin could inspire sets that include the different types of Pikmin and their adventures with Captain Olimar.
  • Other: There are countless other Nintendo franchises that could make for exciting LEGO sets. Let us know your ideas in the comments below!

Personally, I believe the Metroid franchise would make for some of the coolest LEGO sets, especially with Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon. The opportunity to create detailed builds of Samus and her environments is something I'd be excited to invest in. Additionally, while it may be unlikely due to existing licensing agreements, I'd love to see actual LEGO Pokémon sets rather than the MEGA sets.
