"Nintendo Switch 2: Use Joy-Con Mouse Controls on Home Menu"
Nintendo has officially confirmed that players will be able to utilize the innovative Switch 2 Joy-Con mouse controls directly on the Home screen, adding a new layer of interactivity to the console's interface. Since the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, the gaming community has been buzzing with excitement and speculation about the capabilities of the new Joy-Con's mouse controls. Last month, we received the official word that the Joy-Con can indeed switch to a "mouse mode," allowing players to glide the controllers across surfaces and use the analog sticks to mimic left-click and right-click actions, much like a traditional mouse. Moreover, the flexibility extends to using two Joy-Con simultaneously in mouse mode, one in each hand, or pairing one in standard mode with the other in mouse mode.
The latest development, showcased on the Nintendo Today app and shared on X/Twitter, reveals that the Joy-Con 2's mouse controls extend to navigating the Home menu on the Switch 2. As demonstrated, "placing the Joy-Con 2 controller on a surface with the attachment side facing down will cause a cursor to appear on the screen," according to Nintendo. "To activate the cursor, simply set the Joy-Con 2 on a table or any flat surface and move it as instructed."

Nintendo further explained that "while using mouse controls, tilting the control stick allows you to scroll through menus," and these controls are applicable on the Home menu as well as in compatible software. To revert to using the thumbstick, you simply need to reposition the Joy-Con 2 horizontally.
Although the full list of mouse-compatible games remains undisclosed, Nintendo has demonstrated the technology working seamlessly with the Switch 2 versions of Mario Party Jamboree and Metroid Prime 4, along with the wheelchair basketball game Drag x Drive.
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to launch on June 5. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 commenced on April 24, maintaining a price point of $449.99, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
