In their latest developer journal, BioWare has given PC enthusiasts a sneak peek into the tailored features of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The studio has emphasized a robust suite of customization options, advanced display settings, and seamless integration with Steam's native features such as cloud saves, Remote Play support, and compatibility with the Steam Deck.

The unveiling of these details coincided with Nvidia's "RTX Announce Trailer," confirming the game's release date of October 31. In their commitment to delivering an unparalleled PC experience, BioWare highlighted that the Dragon Age series, which originated on PC, would receive special attention. "The Dragon Age franchise started out on PC, and we wanted to make sure PC is a great place to play our game," the studio affirmed. To ensure a smooth and optimized experience, BioWare dedicated about 200,000 hours to performance and compatibility testing on PCs, accounting for 40% of their total platform testing efforts.

Moreover, BioWare invested nearly 10,000 hours in user research to perfect controls and UI functions across various setups. Players can look forward to native support for PS5 DualSense controllers with haptic feedback, as well as compatibility with Xbox controllers and traditional keyboard and mouse setups. A unique feature allows players to switch between different input methods mid-game or in menus effortlessly. The game also includes customizable class-specific keybinds for a personalized control experience. Additional visual enhancements include support for 21:9 Ultrawide displays, a Cinematic Aspect Ratio toggle, customizable field of view (FOV), uncapped frame rates, full HDR support, and Ray Tracing features.
