PlayStation Plus: Five Extra Free Days!

Sony has addressed the nearly day-long PlayStation Network (PSN) outage this weekend, citing an "operational issue" as the cause. While the company offered no further details or preventative measures, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive five extra days of service as compensation.
The outage left many players unable to connect. Over a third reported login failures, with others experiencing server crashes during gameplay. This incident highlights concerns raised by players who oppose Sony's requirement of a PSN account, even for single-player PC games.
This isn't the first major PSN disruption. The April 2011 data breach resulted in over 20 days of connectivity problems. Although less severe, the recent outage has left PS5 users dissatisfied with Sony's limited communication regarding the issue and its cause.
