Pokémon GO Includes Fan-Requested Feature for Time-Limited Event

Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: remote raid pass compatibility with Shadow Raids. This limited-time event, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows trainers to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person.

A key benefit? Increased chances of catching Pokémon with superior Individual Values (IVs) in Shadow Raids. This temporary addition fulfills a long-standing player request since Shadow Raids launched in 2023.

The convenience extends to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), offering boosted shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and the opportunity to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.

Importantly, this remote raid pass functionality for Shadow Raids is temporary. Once Fashion Week concludes, remote raid passes will no longer be usable in Shadow Raids. Whether this will become a permanent feature remains uncertain, although it addresses previous player concerns regarding the in-person requirements of challenging powerful Pokémon.
