Pokémon TCG Evolutions Prismatic Shortage Addressed

The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Prismatic Evolutions expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Acknowledging widespread supply issues impacting availability globally, the company issued a statement expressing gratitude for fan patience and outlining its response.

This marks the first official acknowledgment of the Prismatic Evolutions shortage, which has been a significant point of discussion among fans since pre-orders opened in early November 2024. The expansion's January 17th, 2025 international release date is now facing delays due to unexpectedly high demand.

The Pokémon Company confirmed that reprints of Prismatic Evolutions products are currently underway and will soon be distributed to licensed retailers. While no specific timeframe for increased availability was given, the company emphasized its commitment to maximizing production capacity to meet the demand. The statement refrained from directly addressing speculation regarding scalping as a contributing factor, simply citing "high demand" as the cause.

Beyond the reprints, the Pokémon Company reassured fans that additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release in the coming months. This includes a Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th, 2025), a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection (March 7th and April 25th, 2025 respectively), a Super-Premium Collection (May 16th, 2025), and a Premium Figure Collection (September 26th, 2025). Players of the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards starting January 16th, 2025, through the Battle Pass.
