Resident Evil's Mikami and Killer7's Suda51 Hint at a Possible Sequel and Remaster

During a recent Grasshopper Direct presentation focused on the upcoming Shadows of the Damned remaster, Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil creator) and Goichi "Suda51" Suda sparked excitement among fans by discussing the potential for both a sequel and a complete edition of the cult classic Killer7.

Killer11 or Killer7: Beyond? The Sequel Speculation

Mikami openly expressed his desire for Suda51 to develop a Killer7 sequel, citing it as a personal favorite. Suda51, reciprocating the enthusiasm, hinted at the possibility, playfully suggesting titles like Killer11 or Killer7: Beyond.

The 2005 action-adventure title, Killer7, is known for its unique blend of horror, mystery, and Suda51's signature over-the-top violence. The game follows Harman Smith, a man capable of manifesting seven distinct personalities, each with unique abilities and weapons. Despite its cult following, a sequel has remained elusive. Even after a 2018 PC remaster, Suda51 expressed interest in revisiting the original vision.

He proposed a Killer7 Complete Edition, an idea Mikami jokingly dismissed as "lame." However, the discussion revealed that the original game concept included extensive dialogue for the character Coyote, potentially restorable in a complete edition.

The mere suggestion of a sequel and/or a complete edition ignited considerable fan excitement. While no official announcements have been made, the developers' expressed enthusiasm fuels speculation about the future of Killer7. The final decision, according to Suda51, will be between a sequel (Killer7: Beyond or similar) and the Complete Edition.
