Kirkman Teases Diverse Playable Roster for Invincible VS

by Hazel Mar 28,2026

Currently, we know about six playable characters in the upcoming fighting game Invincible VS—with more to come. But just how extensive will the roster be? During an interview with IGN at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman teased an impressively large lineup.

Invincible VS is an upcoming 3v3 tag-team fighter set in the Invincible universe, developed by Skybound Entertainment’s in-house studio Quarter Up. Confirmed fighters so far include Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Thula, Bulletproof, and Rex Splode. For more details, check out IGN’s Invincible VS preview from June.

A Near-Guaranteed Selection?

Fresh off his SDCC 2025 panel, where he revealed Battle Beast as a playable fighter, Kirkman told IGN that if fans are wondering whether a specific Invincible character—from either the comics or the Prime Video series—will make the cut, there’s a "99% chance" they’ll be included.

"There’s so much care being put into staying true to the Invincible universe," Kirkman said. "So if you’re thinking, ‘Who would I like to see in this fighting game?’—chances are, they’re already in. That might be a spoiler. I might regret saying that."

An "Insane" Roster in the Works

Kirkman elaborated on the ambitious scope of the character lineup: "The roster is going to be absolutely insane. Battle Beast was a must—you can’t have an Invincible fighter without him. And there are others like that who are almost certainly in. We’ve got big reveals planned, and the team behind this is doing incredible work."

Release Window Hint

As for the game’s launch, Kirkman reaffirmed its 2026 release window, then added cryptically: "Sooner than you might expect… but still next year. Don’t ask me to be more specific." Intriguing.
