PUBG Mobile World Cup Stage One Concludes: 12 Teams Remain

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup, held as part of the larger Gamers8 Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been reduced to 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. The $3 million prize pool remains up for grabs.

For those unfamiliar with the event, the Esports World Cup (EWC) is a Gamers8 initiative designed to showcase prominent esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is one of the featured games, and currently, Alliance leads the pack.

Following this weekend's intense competition, the 12 qualifying teams will enjoy a one-week respite before returning for the final stage, scheduled for July 27th and 28th.

Global Impact and Future Events

While the PUBG Mobile World Cup's overall impact on the global fanbase is yet to be fully assessed, the event has generated significant buzz. It's important to note, however, that this tournament isn't the largest on the PUBG Mobile esports calendar. With other major events planned for 2024, its prominence might diminish as the year progresses.

The 12 eliminated teams will have another opportunity to compete in the Survival Stage on July 23rd and 24th. Two coveted spots in the main event are at stake in this high-stakes competition.
