The Last of Us Season 4 Likely Needed to Conclude Story, Says Craig Mazin
The Last of Us’ acclaimed TV adaptation secured a Season 3 renewal before Season 2 premiered. But will there be a Season 4? Showrunner Craig Mazin suggests a fourth season is likely necessary to fully tell the story.
In an interview with Collider, Mazin explained that concluding The Last of Us’ narrative, based on Naughty Dog’s two video games, in Season 3 alone would be impractical, stating it "would take an incredibly long time." While Season 3 may have more episodes than Season 2, he emphasized that "the story cannot be fully resolved in just a third season."
He added: "We hope to earn the opportunity to return and complete the story in a fourth season. That’s the most probable path forward."
