Silent Hill Transmission Sheds Light on Silent Hill f
New Official Reveal Trailer
The Silent Hill Transmission on March 13, 2025, provided fans with exciting updates on Silent Hill f, including a new trailer. Instead of the usual setting in a fictional American town, Silent Hill f transports players to the eerie streets of Ebisugaoka, a fictional Japanese town inspired by the real-life Kanayama in Gero, Gifu Prefecture. The developers have gone to great lengths to recreate the town's detailed alleyways, using reference photos and recordings of daily life, blending them with historical materials to accurately reflect the 1960s setting. The game's storyline revolves around Shimizu Hinako, an ordinary teenager whose life takes a terrifying turn when her town is enveloped in fog and begins to transform. Hinako must navigate this unfamiliar, horrifying version of her home, solve puzzles, combat strange enemies, and make a crucial decision that will define her fate. The narrative is encapsulated as "a tale about a beautiful yet terrifying choice."
Find the Beauty in Terror
Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto emphasized that the core concept behind Silent Hill f is to "find the beauty in terror." While retaining the psychological horror elements that the series is known for, the team chose to explore these themes within a Japanese setting. Okamoto highlighted that Japanese horror often finds terror within beauty, where perfection and immense beauty can become unsettling. Players will experience this through the eyes of Hinako, facing a decision that is both beautiful and terrifying.
Silent Hill f Is A Completely Independent Story
Okamoto assured that Silent Hill f offers a standalone story, welcoming both new players and long-time fans of the series. While newcomers can jump right in, dedicated fans will enjoy subtle easter eggs scattered throughout the game. The game's writer, Ryukishi07, known for his psychological Japanese horror visual novels, brings his deep understanding of the franchise to the table. Having played all the previous Silent Hill games, Ryukishi07 aims to honor the series' origins while introducing new challenges.
One significant challenge was creating a Silent Hill game outside its iconic town. Ryukishi07 expressed confidence in their work, stating, "Naturally, from a creator’s standpoint, I feel I can confidently say that what we’ve made is a Silent Hill game. However, we’re interested in seeing how long-time fans of the series feel after playing, and if they agree."
Silent Hill f is now available for wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While no specific release date has been announced, fans can stay updated with the latest news by clicking on our article below!
