"The Sims 1 & 2 Re-released for PC in 25th Birthday Bundle"

EA and Maxis are thrilled to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise with a fantastic surprise for fans. As of today, both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are once again available on PC through two Legacy Collections, and they are also combined in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.

EA has announced the release of The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, both available today on PC. You can purchase them separately or opt for the bundled The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle, priced at $40, which includes both collections.

Each game comes with all expansions and nearly all stuff packs. Notably, The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008, but otherwise, everything is included. Additionally, both collections offer bonus content: The Sims 1 features the Throwback Fit Kit, while The Sims 2 includes the Grunge Revival Kit along with all other add-ons.

EA's re-release of these classic games marks the first time in over a decade that both titles have been readily available for play. The Sims 1 was exclusively released on disc, making it nearly impossible to access without an old physical copy that could run on modern Windows machines, especially including the expansion packs. The Sims 2 was last available in 2014 through the Ultimate Collection on EA's Origin store, which was later discontinued. Thus, without an old physical disc, The Sims 2 was out of reach for many fans. With these new collections, all four The Sims games are now easily purchasable and playable again through digital storefronts.

Upon their initial release, we rated The Sims 1 at 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 at 8.5/10. Although the series has evolved with numerous new features and improvements, the original games retain their charm with their goofiness, simplicity, challenge, and legacy, making them well worth revisiting.

The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are now available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and through the EA app.
