Following a successful closed alpha, this open beta release includes a significant content update from Titan Forge Games, featuring new gods, game modes, and more.
Revealed a year ago and built using Unreal Engine 5, Smite 2 boasts significant improvements over its predecessor. Expect refined visuals, enhanced combat mechanics, and a revamped item shop offering greater item flexibility regardless of chosen god. The core gameplay remains true to the original Smite: players select gods from diverse cultures to engage in 5v5 battles, vying for control of the map and ultimately, victory.
Starting January 14th, players can download Smite 2's open beta for free. This update introduces Aladdin, a brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2. Utilizing his unique abilities, including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic tied to his companion, Aladdin’s ultimate ability allows him to trap enemies in a 1v1 duel.
Smite 2's Free-to-Play Open Beta: New Content Highlights
- 5 new gods, including the all-new Aladdin.
- The return of the beloved 3v3 Joust mode.
- A fresh Arthurian-themed map.

Beyond the new gods, the open beta brings back the popular Joust mode, offering 3v3 battles on a smaller map. The Conquest and Assault game modes also feature in this open beta.
Titan Forge Games' creative director has stated that Smite 2 is demonstrably superior to its predecessor in many aspects. The team expressed gratitude for the community feedback received during the closed alpha, promising ambitious new content for Smite 2 throughout 2025.
While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently absent from the Nintendo Switch due to concerns regarding performance. However, Titan Forge Games remains open to the possibility of bringing Smite 2 to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future. For now, Smite fans on other platforms can jump into the exciting open beta.
