David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, wished fans a "Happy Snake Year" on Bluesky, highlighting the fortuitous timing of 2025. With a new Metal Gear Solid game on the horizon, it seems Snake's year has truly arrived. Hayter will reprise his role as Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

Konami themselves acknowledged this auspicious coincidence with a New Year's greeting video featuring a taiko drum performance and calligraphy of the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" declaration.
