No Man's Sky's Solanium: Location, Farming, and Crafting Guide

Certain resources in No Man's Sky are exclusive to planets with specific climates. Solanium is one such resource, and its availability depends heavily on your base location. This guide covers finding, farming, and crafting Solanium.

Finding SolaniumLocating Solanium in No Man's Sky

Solanium resembles Frost Crystals but thrives on hot, scorched planets. While in space, target a planet and use your scanner to identify its climate and resources. Look for designations like Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched Planet. The scanner will also indicate Solanium availability.

Harvesting Solar VinesOnce landed, utilize your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines. These plants resemble tall rocks with luminous vines. They cluster together, and you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. If Phosphorus is present, collect it as well; it's a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.

Farming Solanium in No Man's Sky

Farming Solar VinesAfter progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible. Each vine takes roughly 16 real-time hours to mature.

Crafting Solanium in No Man's Sky

Solanium Crafting RecipesSeveral Refiner recipes produce Solanium, mostly requiring Phosphorus from hot planets. Alternatively, purchase Phosphorus from traders or Galactic Trade Terminals. Here are the Solanium crafting recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all these recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To consistently obtain Sulphurine, gather ample Phosphorus and establish a farm at your base.
