Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories

Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring four premium accessories: the DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. These additions to the PS5 lineup offer a sophisticated dark aesthetic.

The collection's pricing is as follows:

• Pulse Explore wireless earbuds (Midnight Black): $199.99
• Pulse Elite wireless headset (Midnight Black): $149.99

Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com, with a full launch on February 20th, 2025.

This launch follows Sony's previous releases of color variants for the DualSense controller, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Galactic Purple. The Midnight Black Collection expands this trend to other key accessories. Interestingly, the Pulse Elite headset’s price point ($149.99) is higher than its predecessor, the Pulse 3D wireless headset. Both the headset and earbuds will come in a gray felt carrying case.

The announcement coincides with the excitement surrounding CES 2025, and further fuels speculation about potential upgrades to the PlayStation VR2 headset.

Adding to the already impressive selection of PS5 accessories, Sony also recently released a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller.
