Sphere Defense: A Minimalist Tower Defense Game Launches

Developer Tomoki Fukushima has released Sphere Defense, a new tower defense game for mobile devices. The game tasks players with defending Earth from waves of enemies using strategically placed units and towers.

While the core gameplay remains true to the tower defense genre—strategically placing units, collecting resources for upgrades, and facing increasing difficulty—Sphere Defense distinguishes itself with its minimalist aesthetic and vibrant neon visuals.

Success in each level rewards players with resources to upgrade their defenses. Perfect runs, achieved without taking any damage, earn high scores and bragging rights.

Fukushima cites the ten-year-old tower defense game geoDefense by David Whatley as inspiration, praising its blend of simplicity, fun, and beauty.
