Hazelight's critically acclaimed cooperative adventure Split Fiction has surpassed nearly four million sales worldwide.

EA confirmed this achievement in its recent financial report, describing Split Fiction as having a "phenomenally successful launch" and crediting it as a contributing factor to the publisher's strong FY2025 performance.

"4 MILLION COPIES SOLD!!!!" developer Hazelight celebrated on social media. "We're overwhelmed by how many players have embraced Split Fiction...

Split Fiction immerses players in the creative worlds of two novelists through an innovative co-op experience that enables two-player gameplay with just one copy. Despite launching in March, it continues Hazelight and Josef Fares' winning streak, selling 2 million copies within its first week. The game is also confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title while Hazelight begins development on their next project.

A film adaptation is currently in production through Story Kitchen (producers of the Sonic movies), who are reportedly finalizing writers, directors and casting including Sydney Sweeney.

Our IGN Split Fiction review praised it as "a masterfully designed cooperative journey that effortlessly shifts between contrasting genres," noting how "its rapidly cycling gameplay concepts maintain thrilling freshness throughout the entire 14-hour experience."
