The news comes in response to multiple top Hollywood studios vying for the movie rights, prompting a package deal to be assembled by Story Kitchen, a media company known for its expertise in adapting games and other non-traditional properties into films and TV series. The same team at Story Kitchen, previously known as dj2 Entertainment, successfully managed the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' earlier hit, It Takes Two. Story Kitchen's portfolio also includes the Sonic the Hedgehog films and Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. At this point, no additional details about the Split Fiction film have been disclosed.

The announcement follows a wave of success for Split Fiction, which earlier this month celebrated selling over two million copies within its first week of release. IGN's review praised the game as an essential co-op adventure, noting that it remains fabulously fresh throughout its entire 14-hour playtime.

Adding to the excitement, Hazelight's director Josef Fares recently confirmed that the studio is already in the process of developing their next game, signaling a bright future for the innovative studio.
