Star Wars Lightsabers Mod Transforms Starfield

Bethesda's Starfield space RPG just got a whole lot more exciting with the arrival of lightsabers, thanks to a new Creation mod. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit has unleashed a wave of player-created content, including new features, cosmetic items, and unique additions.

Naturally, Starfield's expansive sci-fi setting has inspired fans to incorporate elements from Star Wars. While numerous high-quality Star Wars mods already exist, the launch of the Creation Club has significantly amplified their number. These mods range from simple cosmetic additions like Mandalorian armor and Clone Wars attire to more substantial inclusions like Star Wars aliens, AT-ST enemies, and iconic blasters. One mod even features Boba Fett, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the canceled Star Wars 1313 game.

Now, the free Immersive Sabers mod by SomberKing takes Star Wars integration a step further by introducing lightsabers. This Creation Club mod adds three melee lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, workbench upgrades, and customizable beam colors. A new perk even enhances lightsaber deflection capabilities.

The mod doesn't limit lightsaber use to players; they can also be found as loot from defeated enemies. While Jedi craft lightsabers individually in the Star Wars universe, the mod cleverly integrates them into Starfield by having in-game weapon manufacturers produce them. SomberKing's Creation Club page teases three more lightsabers in the works, to be manufactured by Laredo Firearms, Allied Armaments, and Kore Kinetics.

The recent influx of Creation mods, along with game updates introducing features like city maps and customizable ship interiors, has significantly boosted Starfield's popularity. However, Bethesda's implementation of paid official mods remains a point of contention, with many players expressing frustration over content like the locked Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, exciting new content is on the horizon, including the upcoming Shattered Space expansion and a deeper exploration of the dangerous House Va'ruun faction. Starfield players have much to anticipate this year.
