Stellar Blade Tops Sony's Steam Debut Records

by Sadie Mar 06,2026

The PC edition of Stellar Blade launched just yesterday, June 11, yet has already become Sony's most successful single-player debut on Steam.

The game's concurrent player peak currently stands at nearly 105,000 - marking the seventh record-breaking surge since this article was drafted. Player counts are expected to rise further as the weekend approaches.

For context, other Sony exclusives achieved lower peaks: Ghost of Tsushima (77,154), God of War (73,529), and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (66,436). The only Sony title outperforming Stellar Blade's numbers is the multiplayer-focused Helldivers 2.

The PC version offers premium features including DLSS 4 and FSR 3 upscaling, uncapped framerates, Japanese/Chinese voiceovers, ultra-wide support, enhanced textures, and full DualSense compatibility with haptic feedback.

Initially region-locked in 100+ countries, the game now reaches over 250 territories. The modding community has been particularly active since the demo's release weeks ago - though many mods venture into NSFW territory.

Developer Shift Up's success has already secured a sequel for this Sony-published action title, which debuted in April 2024 to praise for blending elements from NieR: Automata and Sekiro.

IGN's review scored it 7/10, noting: "While Stellar Blade excels in fundamental action mechanics, weak narrative elements and frustrating RPG systems prevent it from reaching genre-defining heights."
