Paramount+ unleashes a new Star Trek film, Star Trek: Section 31, directly to its streaming platform, arriving hot on the heels of Lower Decks and in anticipation of Strange New Worlds Season 3. This roughly 100-minute feature expands on Michelle Yeoh's Star Trek: Discovery character, Philippa Georgiou, and her involvement with the clandestine Starfleet division, Section 31.
Critical reception, however, has been less than stellar. IGN's Jordan Hoffman gave the film a scathing 2/10 review, citing its potential to frustrate long-time fans while failing to engage others. He praised Yeoh's fight choreography as the movie's sole redeeming quality.
