Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of Helldivers 2 (released a year ago), is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan input.

Community suggestions ranged widely, including a Smash TV remake and various Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and acknowledged interest in a Star Fox-esque "rail game."

While details remain scarce, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio's next project faces high expectations, following Helldivers 2's success as a standout title of 2024.

A recent Helldivers 2 update, including the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The update, shadow-dropped at the 2024 Game Awards as "Omens of Tyranny," has been well-received.

This positive reception, coupled with rumors of a Killzone crossover, bodes well for Helldivers 2's continued success in 2025.
