Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets Final Major Content Update
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service Support
Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, though online features will remain active.
Launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. Rocksteady announced the end of support on December 9, 2024, with Season 4 Episode 8 as the final chapter.
This update includes:
- Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set that manipulates enemy damage output.
- Notorious Weapons: New weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a powerful area-of-effect ability), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
- Mayhem Mission: A final confrontation against Brainiac.
- Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
- Bug Fixes: A significant number of bug fixes addressing various gameplay, UI, audio, and visual issues across the game.
While new content is finished, the game remains playable online. Furthermore, a previous update (Season 4 Episode 7) introduced offline functionality, allowing players to access the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, but offline play ensures continued access even if servers are eventually taken down.
For players who haven't experienced the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes Highlights:
New Content:
- Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas within the medieval Elseworld, including The Quarry and The Arena.
- Libra Infamy Set: Increases both damage dealt and received by enemies based on stacks of Scales of Libra.
- New Notorious Weapons: Three powerful weapons with unique mechanics and high damage potential.
Gameplay Changes:
- Reduced XP Requirements: Lowered Squad Level XP requirements, with retroactive rewards applied.
- Deathstroke Adjustment: Reduced the duration of Deathstroke's Suicide Strike against specific enemies.
Bug Fixes: Numerous fixes addressing various gameplay issues, including crashes, UI glitches, audio problems, and localization errors. Specific fixes include those related to LuthorCoin expiration, playlist updates, bonus XP, resource rewards, leaderboards, and various character abilities.
Known Issues: A single known issue regarding incorrect tracking of Riddler challenges when playing across different episodes.
This concludes the journey for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's live service, but players can still enjoy the game's content through various means.
