Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja's 30th Anniversary: Big Plans on the Horizon

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for its action-packed titles like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant plans for its 30th anniversary in 2025. While famous for these franchises, the studio has also expanded its portfolio to include successful soulslike RPGs such as the Nioh series, and collaborations with Square Enix on titles like Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further showcases their versatility.

In a recent interview (via 4Gamer.net and Gematsu), Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda hinted at upcoming releases, stating a desire to launch titles "fitting for the occasion." While details remain scarce, speculation centers on the potential revival of either the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden franchises.

Team Ninja's 2025 Possibilities

The anticipation is heightened by the already-announced Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a side-scrolling title revealed at The Game Awards 2024. This new entry aims to blend classic 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements, bridging the gap between the series' retro roots and its 3D iterations. The last mainline Ninja Gaiden release was 2014's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

Meanwhile, fans eagerly await news on the Dead or Alive franchise, which hasn't seen a mainline entry since 2019's Dead or Alive 6. Recent releases have been limited to spin-offs. The Nioh series also remains a strong contender for a potential anniversary release. With Team Ninja promising titles befitting their 30th anniversary, 2025 promises to be a significant year for the studio and its fans.
