Terra Nil Heatwave Update Adds Three New Maps

Terra Nil's latest free update, "Heatwave," introduces some of the game's most severe yet visually stunning environments. Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Clockwork Acorn and Free Lives, the update is now available on mobile and Steam.

Heatwave expands Terra Nil's biome diversity with a brand-new arid region. This addition brings fresh, challenging restoration scenarios, new wildlife interactions, and innovative eco-tech tools to the game.

What's New in the Update?

Players will work to restore three new maps, each with unique environmental challenges. The first, Parched Oasis, draws inspiration from the real-world Okavango Delta. Your task is to burn invasive vegetation to restart river flow, then transform the land into savannah and alluvial plains. Elephants play a crucial role here, mirroring their real-world function in maintaining this ecosystem.

Next is Canyon Peaks, inspired by the Grand Canyon, featuring a massive central gorge. On one side, you must contain oil fires that drain resources if ignored. On the other, you'll cleanse a radioactive city.

The third map, Fracked Floodplain, challenges you to clean up industrial oil spills before reviving the desert's water sources. Your final task is to build a biofuel-powered rocket to dock with your orbital spacecraft.

Heatwave Also Enriches Terra Nil's Wildlife

Thirteen new species join the game, including crocodiles, elephants, hyenas, and vultures. Wildlife now appears more naturally in the environment and lingers longer. A new photography mode lets you capture these animals in their restored habitats.

Two key eco-tech tools also debut: a remotely operated land recycling bot and the Xerophytium, a structure that helps restore cactus biomes. These additions expand your toolkit for bringing life back to barren landscapes.

With this update, Terra Nil now features all five major climate zones. You can download the game on the Google Play Store.
