4. Marius

During my adventures in Avowed, I found Marius to be the least compatible with my play style. While he offers some utility in early-game exploration by helping to locate items and plants, his combat abilities are quickly overshadowed by other Companions. Marius' abilities focus more on controlling and weakening enemies rather than dealing direct damage, making him less versatile for the majority of the game. Here are his abilities and their upgrades:

• Blinding Roots: Roots enemies in place for 8 seconds. Upgrades include stunning enemies, trapping multiple foes, and inflicting Bleed Accumulation.
• Heart Seeker: A piercing shot that hits the target regardless of obstacles. Upgrades allow it to hit multiple enemies, deal increased damage to low-health targets, and reduce its cooldown.
• Shadow Step: Marius disappears in a smoke cloud before reappearing to strike enemies. Upgrades can instantly kill stunned enemies, increase damage against low-health foes, and allow multiple strikes.
• Wounding Shots: His attacks cause Bleed Accumulation. Upgrades can reduce enemy damage reduction, slow hit enemies, and further reduce enemy damage.
