Valve Unveils Final Team Fortress 2 Comic in Smissmas Surprise

by Skylar May 16,2025

Sometimes, miracles do happen, and those who have waited a long time finally get what they've been hoping for. Valve has released a new comic for the beloved team-based shooter, Team Fortress 2. The unexpected content drop was announced on the official game website, much to the delight of the game's dedicated fanbase.

The new Team Fortress 2 comic, titled "The Days Have Worn Away," marks the seventh numbered issue and the 29th release overall, including event and thematic stories. It's been a long seven years since the last TF2 comic was released back in 2017, making this release a significant event for fans.

Valve's developers humorously compared the creation of this work to the construction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. They quipped that while all the people who started working on that Italian structure didn’t live to see its completion, Team Fortress 2 players only had to wait "just" seven years. This light-hearted comment reflects the patience and dedication of the game's community.

The comic itself is quite rich and neatly wraps up the storyline. There is a very high likelihood that there won't be another issue. This was hinted at by Erik Wolpaw, who posted a very telling tweet on X about "the very last meeting for the Team Fortress 2 comic." At least players have received some closure to the story and a touch of Christmas spirit, making this release a fitting end to an epic saga.
