Looking back on the past year? More and more apps are offering year-in-review features, and Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap is a fun way to revisit your memories.

What Is a Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap offers a fun, visual overview of your year on Snapchat. Unlike detailed statistical recaps like Spotify Wrapped, Snap Recap doesn't focus on numbers. Instead, it playfully selects a single Snap from each month, creating a nostalgic montage. This curated collection of memories often flows seamlessly into your other Memories, including flashbacks from previous years, offering a broader look at your documented life events.

How To View Your 2024 Snapchat Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button). You'll find your 2024 Snap Recap prominently displayed—usually at the top of the screen.

Tap the Snap Recap (avoiding the share icon) to start the playback. The recap automatically scrolls through your chosen Snaps, one per month. You can tap the screen to speed up the playback if needed. Like any other Snap, you can save, edit, share, or even add it to your Story.

Why Don’t I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't panic. Snapchat's rollout is gradual, so yours might simply not be ready yet. Snapchat also suggests that the number of saved Snaps is a factor. In short, consistent Snapchat usage throughout the year increases your chances of receiving a recap. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after a reasonable time, you can't request one.
