New Visual Novel Explores Peculiar Market on Jupiter

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Akupara Games has delivered a string of captivating titles this year, including The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.

Is the Universe Really for Sale?

The game unfolds on a bizarre space station orbiting Jupiter, a location shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprisingly sharp wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for spiritual enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to create universes from her very hand.

The game begins with the player controlling the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment, landing in a ramshackle mining colony shantytown. The setting is both unsettling and captivating.

Exploring the colony's quirky shops, the Master eventually discovers Honin's Tea House, Lila's establishment. Lila's enigmatic nature gradually unfolds as the narrative shifts between her perspective and the Master's.

Playing as Lila involves a mini-game where players create mesmerizing universes by combining various ingredients. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.

The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to speculate on the underlying mysteries. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages exploration.
